Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the state, producing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to manage the extensive power failures.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred emergency reports across the state, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Medical authorities warned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
