Tehran Says It May Resume American Atomic Talks provided that Handled with 'Dignity' and 'Honor'

Iran is ready to reinitiate nuclear negotiations with Washington provided that it is treated with "respect" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat stated solely negotiations was effective, and shared new appeals had come from go-betweens to resume discussions with the American leadership. Previous Talks Suddenly Concluded

The prior phases of talks between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and bitter end on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, attacked Tehran's atomic facilities in a 12-day war that ended with Donald Trump asserting the facilities had been destroyed. Afterward, EU nations exercised their right to restore UN-wide sanctions, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.

Ideal Resolution Offered

Tehran representatives said they felt they had achieved a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with US participation could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be certain that Iran's nuclear programme was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been settled in the discussions that US nuclear scientists could work within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the partnership suggestion. Representatives claimed repeatedly they had secured an understanding with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the deal to disintegrate due to "spoilers in Washington".

Present Situation

In what is described by Tehran representatives as the conflict of restoration and recovery, Araghchi said he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "are considerably enhanced than before 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been reestablished. We gained many lessons from this conflict; we have identified our internal vulnerabilities and the weaknesses of the adversary."

He stated: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to destroy, remains in place. The facilities and machinery, if eliminated, will be reconstructed; what is essential is the resolve of the citizens of Tehran and then the unity of the country that they sought to undermine, but failed to shatter. The Iranian people have grown more resilient, more cohesive, and more backing of the government and the nation in the face of this invasion."
